ASVAB Prep
Session Structure
Pricing
The ASVAB test, specifically the AFQT, is designed to test knowledge traditionally taught in high school. For some enlistees, it has been ages since they thought of "solving for x". In order to properly evaluate what needs extra work, each student will take a diagnostic test. This creates specific goals and a realistic time frame.

Only AFQT subjects are offered for tutoring

After the diagnostic test and scoring, each topic will be reviewed and mastered. Practice tests are offered along the way to track progress.
Accurate time frames can be given upon consultation.
Depending on how much instruction a student needs depends on how long sessions will continue. With due diligence and study, many are set to succeed at the test in 1-3 months.

Intensive Recovery
Who qualifies for IRP?
How Do IRP sessions work?
The Intensive Recovery Program is for students that are falling/have fallen behind as a result of:
-
Extensive absence from school
-
Struggles with basic skills
-
Struggling in advanced classes (Pre-AP, AP)
With possible addition of:
-
School-life imbalance
-
Not knowing how to study
-
Performance anxiety
After conversation and contact with both the parent(s) and the student, the first session is purely diagnostic.
-
Look at grades, missing assignments, and current assignments
-
Create a realistic study plan
-
Ensure open communication between parent(s), student, and tutor

After that, each ensuing session will follow a pre-determined schedule set week by week. All:
-
Projects
-
Essays
-
Tests
-
Homework
Will be either reviewed, finished, or scheduled for independent completion. This ensures that positive study habits are made and the students can learn responsible time management.
Recommended Sessions
Intensive work requires intensive sessions. These recommendations have been optimized for maximum success and are ordered from most recommended down with prices
1. 2hrs, three times a week, occasionally on weekends when test prep needs it. $30/hr, $180/week
2. 2hrs, twice a week, occasionally on weekends when test prep needs it . $35/hr, $140/week
3. 1hr, three times a week, occasionally on weekends when test prep needs it. $35/hr, $105/week
How often a student needs sessions changes. At first, I recommend option 1 for at least a week, preferably two, to get everything together, create plans, and become productive. After that, gradually moving down to option 3 as the student becomes more proactive, successful, and needing less intervention.

Because of the extensive work and time required, the adjusted rate accomodates for those needs.
